We are excited to bring you an evening of creative Italian cuisine with hands-on instruction from a dynamic team consisting of a culinary educator and one of her former students. Join us for an evening with Chefs Judy Uerling and Julio Ortiz. Learn to make homemade pasta and sauces while incorporating (and sipping) delicious wines from Enchantment Vineyards. Our menu will feature wine pairings with each course, and all participants will go home with dried pasta to take home and share.
Space is limited to only 20 participants at this event, and tickets will sell very fast.
About Our Chefs
Julio Ortiz is a native of Clovis, New Mexico, and has been active in the food industry since high school. He began his training in Clovis High School’s ProStart program (sponsored by the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation) - a curriculum designed to teach students culinary and management skills needed for a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry. He attended Le Cordon Bleu in Dallas and has worked with some of DFW’s well-known chefs and restaurants. His experience at Fearing’s at the Ritz Carlton, Stephen Pyle’s Flora Street Cafe, the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, and Knife Steakhouse has enhanced his deep passion for cooking and exceptional skills as a chef.
Judy Uerling is a retired Certified Executive Chef and Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator. While operating her own deli and catering business in Albuquerque, she served as Chef Director for the State Chef of the Year Dinner and was a silver medalist in the American Culinary Federation’s National Mystery Basket Competition. Her love of cooking centers around education. She was named NM ProStart Teacher of the Year and was one of three recipients for Golden Corral’s National Excellence in Education Award. She continues to be active in culinary arts through volunteer work in such endeavors as a children’s cooking camp, providing meals for homebound individuals and leads a neighborhood meal ministry for her church.
